Going Green

Sustainability is the new goal for Pixus as we continue to grow. We have listened to our customers who expressed their desire to “go green” to help make their companies more planet-friendly. We also heard the mandate that going green must be cost-effective. At Pixus, we are committed to adapting our business products and practices to be more earth-friendly. We will remain vigilant in seeking new sustainable solutions for our inks, substrates, equipment choices, and building operational practices.

Inks

Pixus is proud to announce that with our latest printer acquisition, we have eliminated the last of our harsh solvent inks, loaded with VOC’s. In 2010, we are now offering aqueous(water-based) inks, UV-Curable, and the new Latex (water-based) inks. While it is almost impossible to be 100% free of VOC, our ink sets are 99.9% free of VOC ( volatile organic compounds) The importance of this means that if we print on biodegradable products, the planet is not harmed. Secondarily, if we print on recyclable substrates, all of the substrate can be recycled.

Printing Equipment

Pixus is proud to announce the addition of the HP L65500 Latex ink printer. This is the fastest printer in our shop today and it uses water-based ink. This six color printer with a resolution of 1200 dpi produces even higher quality than standard digital printers.
